من جانبه كشف رئيس وكالة الحالة المدنية الإيطالية عن معلومات قد تفسر إرتفاع نسبة وفيات الفيروس في إيطاليا مقارنة ببقية دول العالم، خصوصا وأن نسبة الوفايات قد بلغت 9.8% من الإصابات البالغ عددها 69,176.
وقال أنجيلو بوريلي إن عدد حالات الإصابة بفيروس كورونا المستجد في البلاد قد يزيد بعشرة أضعاف عن الأرقام الرسمية، مشيرا إلى أنه مقابل كل نتيجة إيجابية معتمدة رسميا هناك عشرة غير معتمدة.
